‘Women or Nothing’: Ethan Coen’s half-baked new stage comedy
Ethan Coen’s new Off Broadway comedy, Women or Nothing, has a preposterous but not unpromising premise: A lesbian couple seeks to trap an unknowing straight guy into impregnating one of them. But though the characters can banter wittily, there is nothing about them that remotely rings true. And the final scene isn’t so much ended as abandoned, as if Coen himself did not know how to tie up his stories many, many loose ends. Check out my full review at EW.com
