‘The Film Society’ Unfortunate revival

I had been looking forward to seeing a new drama by Jon Robin Baitz, whose last play, Other Desert Cities, was a Pulitzer finalist and Tony nominee and all-around barnstormer of a family drama. But it turns out that the Keen Company’s fall production is a dispiriting, poorly directed revival of Baitz’s 25-year-old The Film Society, his first full-length script and a work that merely shows apprentice-level craftsmanship.
