J.K. Rowling’s surprise new novel, ‘The Cuckoo’s Calling’
Robert Galbraith’s The Cuckoo’s Calling was pretty much ignored when it was published this spring — but now that Galbraith has been revealed to be J.K. Rowling, the book has shot to the top of Amazon’s best-seller list. And the attention is deserved. Rowling’s on more solid ground in genre fiction — in this case, a rather old-fashioned mystery — than she was in her much-hyped literary novel from last fall, The Casual Vacancy.
